Battle Against Bald is a blog documenting real battles against hair loss, which we take head-on (pun intended) by going through the Bosley hair restoration procedure.

Here's a great news story about an anchorman and two other men from Palm Beach, Florida who received hair restoration surgery. The story does a fantastic job with outlining the emotional and psychological effects of a renewed hair line, and showing how the procedure works. Here's the video:
Alright, folks, here are another few steps in Seth's procedure. The videos show the doctor drawing his new hairline and creating the donor area, followed by the assistants preparing the donor area. Stay tuned for more videos to come!
Actually, the title of this entry should be called "hair restoration results IN the news." Why? Because a Palm Beach, Florida ABC news anchor, Jim Abath, features his own hair restoration results on his news program. Supported by his female co-anchors, Abath details the results of his, as well as two other mens', hair restoration procedures. After a year of hair restoration efforts, including two surgical hair restorations and a daily dose of Propecia, Abath and his co-hair restoration subjects prove that re-storing lost hair is possible. Additionally, the men show further proof that hair restoration does work. Enjoy!
Here are some more videos from the morning of Seth's procedure. The nurses are continuing to prep Seth for his procedure. He gets shaved, grounded, photographed and sized up; sounds like a good time!
I'll be getting to the good stuff soon, but I wanted to show just how much actually goes into these procedures. So when you go in for yours, you'll know how time consuming and draining it really is. Enjoy and stay tuned for more footage from Seth's hair restoration procedure.
We have blogged quite a few times about laser combs and laser treatments for hair loss. However, until now we haven't grasped the magnitude of laser therapy as a treatment for hair loss. Laser combs seem to be the popular topic these days, but unfortunately we haven't heard of any positive results. From what we've witnessed, the laser comb is good for promoting healthy hair growth but not so much for regrowing lost hair. That said, there are other laser hair treatments boasting more positive results.
Little did we know, there's a whole new type of laser treatment on the cusp. You can't do it in the comfort of your home, as it involves over 100 low-level lasers which cover the patients scalp for between 15 and 30 minutes. Here's a pretty good news story showing how low-level laser therapy works and can help regrow lost hair.
This just in! More footage from my Bosley hair restoration procedure is now available. You've already seen video from my Bosley consultation, then my consultation with Dr. Winans, filmed during the morning of my procedure. Now here's the good stuff—video from the actual Bosley hair restoration procedure. This is the meat and potatoes, folks. However, I must warn you that, at times, what you'll witness is not for those with weak stomaches.
The first three videos, which I've embedded below, detail the set-up of my procedure where the nurses prepped me for the procedure and set my expectations for the day to come. Enjoy and stay tuned for more footage from my hair restoration procedure.
Here's the final two episodes from the morning of Seth's Bosley hair restoration procedure. In the first episode, Dr. Winans describes the specifics of Seth's hair restoration, most important being the pain and discomfort associated with hair restoration. Additionally, the first episode ends with Dr. Winans answering a question many potential hair restoration patients ask: will your hair will continue to fall out after hair restoration? The answer is no, the transplanted hairs will not fall out, they are permanent. However, unless you're taking Propecia, you will continue to lose non-transplanted hairs after the restoration procedure. In the second video, Dr. Winans explains exactly what Seth can expect to experience during the first few days after his hair transplantation.
"Today" on NBC recently did a featured segment on hair loss and the methods used to correct it. This particular episode is a lot like the hair loss feature Battle the Against Bald that Donny Deutsch did a few months ago on his show, "The Big Idea." The only difference is that it's a bit shorter and not as descriptive, but reiterates the fact that there are cures for baldness, and hair restoration surgery reigns supreme among all other options. Enjoy!
How's it going? Seth here, just wanted to get a few more videos up. There are a few more consultation videos, then on to the procedure! In these videos Dr. Winans and I talk about my scalp and goals with the procedure. Enjoy!
Are you a woman? Have you recently had a hair restoration surgery, or planning on having a hair transplantation procedure? If your answer is yes then you're in luck, I came across this great instructional hair restoration video providing useful hair styling techniques for women after receiving a hair restoration. If you're not familiar with the hair restoration process, patients typically experience shock loss, which is when you lose more hair immediately after the procedure, as a result of stress and shock to the scalp. Here's Ms. Karamanovski's lesson on styling your hair to conceal shock loss and hair restoration scars.
