Winter Weather Causing Hair Loss?
There are a lot of things to love about winter: the holiday season, building snowmen in the front yard and football playoffs and bowl games. But as far as your hair is concerned, winter has its downside. The cold air is more drying and less humid and indoor heating devices create a dryer climate as well. This drying can cause damage to hair and result in hair loss. Here are a few tips for taking care of your hair in the winter months:
- Hair static is caused by a lack of hair moisture. Brush with natural and not plastic bristles.
- Never keep your hair wet for a long period of time or brush it when it’s wet – hair is at it’s weakest then.
- Try to towel dry your hair instead of blow drying it.
- Dry and cold weather can be damaging to your hair since it easily becomes dry during this time of the year due to dry indoor heating and cold weather outside.
