Reaching the end of day 2 following my restoration
has brought some good milestones.
The feeling of my scalp being "tight" or a little "stretched" eased up late yesterday, and
has now almost completely gone. Today has also brought significantly less awareness
of the donor area for me, with the exception of an odd bump or touch
that quickly reminds me it still is healing in progress. By this evening of my second day post procedure, I have stopped taking all pain
medication and feel quite comfortable without it.
The new sensation is case of the itches! Nothing dramatic or too uncomfortable, but every now and again I find myself
having to catch my hand en-route to my new hairline where slightly
itchy sensations
are occurring. I'm finding that not wearing a hat definitely helps. Talking of wearing hats, the common sight of a
mid-thirties guy, just like me, wearing a baseball cap, definitely helps
when you've had a hair
restoration procedure. It's certainly great to get on with your life wearing a cap and nobody has absolutely any idea
what is going on under there!
I went into the Bosley office yesterday for a post
procedure checkup by the Doctor and a hair wash. With everything looking good, most of
the time was spend getting a hair-wash and lesson on how
to do it myself without touching the forehead area. It seems to me that the easiest way to do this at home without help will be sitting in a
bath pouring the soapy mixture and rinse water through your hair, but
being a shower kinda of a guy I'm not sure how long I will be able
to keep that up, so
some fancy footwork in the shower to keep water
pressure off my head will likely be something I will figure out in a day
or two.
