When I woke up I realized this day was different than the others- no more
Vicoden! I switched over to Darvocet for a few days. We all react to different medications in different ways, and this
one made me feel a little out of it, but it did the job. I was instructed to
wear a hat whenever I was outdoors for more than 10-15 minutes, and since I
walk to work I wore the hat to and from my job. I also tried to pay close
attention to spraying my head every hour or so at work (which was not hard to remember, as I
mentioned before it calms the itchy feeling).
Work went pretty well. I still had slight
swelling but I don’t think anyone noticed (if only I had iced as directed on
day one!). I used the gel on my sutures twice and there seemed to be minimal changes- mostly just scabs starting to fall off. Progress!
