Bald in the Professional World

Why are professional wrestlers typically bald? To avoid hair pulling? To look scary? I researched this for while and could not find a viable answer. It is true that way back in the day soldiers from all countries and time periods would shave their heads to keep their hair from being pulled, but a professional wrestler would not do that today. Perhaps the aesthetic from old warriors just stuck, or perhaps there is a competitive advantage that I’m missing. Either way here’s an interesting article that sheds some light on why some men choose bald!
