The coast guard goes bald for Locks of Love
Seven women of the coast guard based in Portsmouth, Virginia lopped off their locks yesterday for the non-profit organization Locks of Love. The mass-haircut took place at the Integrated Support Command base in Portsmouth.
Three Norfolk, Virginia barbers cut a total of 75 inches of hair off of the seven women, one of whom was Coast Guard lieutenant commander Kerry Karwan, who organized the event. She had been growing her hair out for three years, donating fifteen inches of that three years to yesterday's fund raiser.
