ISHRS Hosts 15th Annual Scientific Meeting
The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery will be hosting the 15th Annual Scientific Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will be taking place at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino on September 26-30. More than 500 surgeons and surgical assistants from around the world are expected to attend the event, which boasts some fantastic highlights: presentations discussing new data on the safety and efficiency of robotic-assisted hair transplants, and the research being conducted on the use of donor hairs from other people. Here are a few of the other topics that will be touched on during the five day event:
- A new study looking at intact hairlines in mature men without androgenetic alopecia, (e.g., Ronald Reagan, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis) which may hold the key to reshaping natural hairlines in younger men suffering from hair loss.
- The hair growth promoting effect of vitamin B12 in vitro and its potential in promoting hair growth after micrograft transplantation.
- Data from a study examining the impact of hair transplant surgery on psychosocial aspects of hair loss, such as anxiety and depression.
- Evaluating the use of laser therapy for pain management and to accelerate the wound healing process of donor and recipient areas after hair transplant surgery.
- A review of hormone receptor physiology and androgens in female hair loss.
- Best practices in non-scalp hair transplants, including eyebrow and eyelash transplantation.
