The Bald Report: Weekly hair loss and hair restoration news
Believe it or not, it's Monday already! Doesn't look like we've found the cure for baldness yet, but we still have some hair loss news to report. In this weeks edition of The Bald Report we have a whole bunch on women's hair loss and one item about a form of hair restoration that we have never mentioned before—mesotherapy.
Women's Hair Loss—An article from New8Austin.com reports that 40 percent of women will suffer from some sort of hair loss by the age of 60. Some 20 million women are affected by hair loss today.
Embracing the Bald—Sam Rudolph, a receptionist at a non-profit law firm in New York, has suffered from alopecia areata since she was seven years old. She has chosen not to wear a wig because when she does she says, "it starts to feel like everything is fake."
Bald Girls Do Lunch—A non-profit organization that goes by Bald Girls Do Lunch is reaching out to women who suffer from alopecia areata. Their goal is to educate the public about the disease in order to create an acceptance of bald women in society.
Natural Hair Remedy—Mesotherapy, a hair restoration technique that requires an injection of extracts, minerals, vitamins, amino acids and enzymes into the scalp, may prove to be an affective way to control hair loss. Dr. Sanjay Parashar of Dubai says mesotherapy may delay male-pattern baldness.
