Hair loss may be spared in cancer treatment

In the next few years, claims an article from MSNBC, cancer patients may be able to skip chemotherapy in order to avoid its consequences, which include nausea, weakened immune system, and, of course, hair loss.

The claim comes from an increase in research that is allowing doctors to diagnose cancer on a more individualized basis, discovering the effectiveness of chemotherapy and determining its relevance on a case by case basis.  Though more research is still needed to define the subsets of cancer cases, it has already been determined that patients with breast cancer may be eligible to avoid the treatment.

Rather than simply determining the area where cancer may exist in a body, doctors are discovering and categorizing subsets within each form of cancer so that they can target specific cells during treatment rather then blanketing the entire body with treatments such as chemotherapy.  This will eventually lead to less painful treatment with little to no consequential damage to non-affected parts of the body.  We will soon, hopefully, be able to attribute hair loss, among other things, to cancer treatments of the past.

by own personal experience since early august 2007 this year till today october 19 2007 - the claims of onion juice not regrowing hair is a drastic error - i have hair growing everywhere but in frontside lobes it is thickening in the front center - this new hair feel like thick razor stubble and if i stop using onion juice it does not stop growing - i use the pure stuff - no additives - also the existing hair was not harmed and did not fall out - in the back of the head where u see bald spots mine has been replaced with thick hair - i am 53 years old - have had fine hair all my adult life - this hair is like it was in my teens - have used rogaine in the past - it had no effect and today has no effect - the druggest made pre-ROGAINE minoxidill solution worked quite well on me till it was replaced with over the counter rogaine and other minoxidill brands - it never did this well like onion juice does - a dermatologist told me i would be bald at 40 like J. BENNET JOHNSTON former LOUISIANA SENATOR. i've been lucky i did not lose all my hair as he said it just thinned out some and got extremely fine - how i made my onion juice was just get a juicer at walmart put in red onions and run the process - 2 onions will make about 16 oz - 16 oz will last 3 months - if you want to make extra strong recycle the use pulp thru again - i really think you could use it once or twice a week and get the same effect - that is about what i do now
