Days after hair restoration

Recently I've received a number of questions asking how I felt immediately after my hair restoration procedure. A lot of people considering hair transplantation are concerned about the impact the procedure will have on their daily lives. I know this because before my procedure I was worried that I might be bedridden for days, or that my head would be too damaged to go out in public. Let me assure you there isn't anything to worry about.

I won't pretend that it's a walk in the park, because it's not. Like most good things in the world you have to work for it. That being said, here's my post-hair restoration recollection, which should give you a good idea of what to expect.

One day after receiving  my hair restoration I had a pre-scheduled date to look at apartments with my wife, so I had to get an early start. Waking up I pretty much felt like crap, but managed to look at a few places before the nausea from driving around was too much. For some reason the driving really made me feel sour, so I ended the day early and got back into bed—immediately I felt a lot better. For the remainder of the first day, and into the next, I pretty much just laid low indulging myself in movies and Advil. Having my wonderful wife there to help get me back on my feet was a blessing.

After the second day I barely noticed any pain and felt pretty good—so good that I didn’t even take another Advil or Tylenol. For the the first few days I took only baths and by the third day I decide it was time for a shower. When showering you have to be patient. The back of your head and the top of your head are still very sensitive at this point but it doesn’t take long for the discomfort to dissipate. For a few weeks you can feel the sensitivity when sleeping, showering and wearing hats, but each day it gets better and you'll find yourself less worried about it.

It differs from patient to patient, but for me the scabs began to fall off at the same time I had my suture (stiches) removed, which was exactly 15 days after the procedure.

In short, the effects of the hair restoration procedure were fairly mild. Or at least mild enough for me to plan another procedure.  The next procedure will hopefully be coming up this month or by the end of June. At the moment I'm not taking Propecia, but I might soon. I'll keep you posted!
