Q: Does your hair thin immediately after receiving a Hair Transplantation
I received a question from a reader who received a Hair Restoration Surgery in late August and experienced some hair thinning right after. He/she wants to know if it's normal to lose hair right after a Hair Restoration, and if I experienced something similar after my Bosley Hair Transplant.
Actually, I did noticed thinning afterwards. When I looked at pictures of my head from right before the procedure, I thought my hair looked thinner right after the procedure. I even had people make that comment on this blog. This immediate post-surgery thinning is because of the "shock loss" that most of us encounter right after the procedure. I've had guys email me who have experienced shock loss for a couple of months afterwards. I had shock loss happening for about a month and a half.
At the time, I found this pretty disconcerting. However, now my hair looks thicker and more full than before the procedure (I'm just past the 4 month mark), so hopefully it all works out in the end.
Below is another photo comparison. The first was taken about a month after my Bosley procedure, when I was experiencing the most "shock loss" and the second was taken this afternoon.

Hair loss sufferers can now find a brighter silver lining because the market introduces a lot of solutions. But there are two methods that are mostly considered by many, and these are hair weaves and hair transplants. Let us look closely on these two and get a good grasp on why they would make good options.

Wow, incredible! It's just an effect of the procedure and feel better after a few months. eh! There is nothing to fear. Thank you for this, I should not fear at all.

I don't know about you, guys, but I am absolutely SMITTEN by muscular mature men with long hair! Ponytail is kinda chic, also, because nowadays it requires a lot of courage from a man to wear it. After all, Samson's strength was in his hair!

I am having a transplant done with Bosley in a couple of weeks. It's not a large operation. They're going to do approximately 1300 grafts. My questions is: I recently purchased the laser comb. In your opinion, or anyone's, will the laser comb help expedidte and facilitate the recovery time after a transplant?
Any information is appreciated.

I had hair transplantion done a month ago, and now i did notice a lot of loss due to the shock. Sounds like it will grow back, I hope.
Also, is there anything to speed up the regrowth? The place I went to, Crown Cosmetic Surgery,in L.A., , said they could user laser, once a week , for 20 sessions, and that will help..they claim the laser may actually keep the transplanted hairs also. Most places say that initially they will fall out, and not to expect them to regrow for 3-6 months. Whats your comments? they also said rogaine would help.
Then i went to another place that just specializes in laser, and they said "we dont want to mislead you..you would need 2 treatments a week, for a whole year" So i'm confused. Anyone know how many laser treatments it may take, after transplant, to keep the transplanted hairs growing? I don't want to spend $5000 for a while year of laser.
also, i will try the Apple thing...can't hurt
