More Than 3 Months After My Bosley Hair Transplantation
It's now been about 3-and-a-half months since I received my Bosley Hair Transplant. Personally, I'm seeing a lot of improvement in the thickness of my hair, and a lot of people have told me they can really see a difference. I've posted today's photo below.
It's very encouraging when so many people (including me) notice a change in the thickness of my hair. And I'm still in the beginning stages of having the hair grow in, so I know it's just going to get better over the next 6 months.
I've been getting a lot of e-mails from guys who have recently undergone a Bosley procedure and are now feeling frustrated or disappointed because they are not seeing hair growth. One thing I've learned - something I didn't understand before my procedure - is just how much of a process hair restoration is. First you go through the procedure; then there's the 2 week period after the procedure, where you have to take extra-special care of your scalp; then you go through shock loss; then the hair finally starts to grow in, but it happens slowly. The hairs start from 'scratch' as little vellus hairs that start growing from below the scalp. So when your hair starts growing in, it's like you've got 'stubble' on your scalp. There's no 'magic moment' where suddenly you've got a full, thick head of hair. It all just slowly builds over time.
The good news is that the hair does start to grow in. And even though it's a process, it brings up another point I've made several times on this blog -- in the big picture, 9 months is not that big of a deal when I consider that I'm going to have hair for the rest of my life. So I'll continue to post pictures, and I look forward to all your e-mails, comments and questions.
In the meantime, be sure to check out my Battle Against Bald Flickr page. You can see pictures from every stage of my Bosley experience, pre-, mid- and post-procedure.
